The draw of mathematics and family expectations were the motivating
forces that guided the direction of Gita Hazrati during the
first three decades of her life. She completed a Masters Degree
in Nuclear Reactor Science and Engineering at England’s
Imperial College of London University and a Bachelor of Science
Degree in physics at the National University of Iran.
While
adept in the sciences, Gita has always pursued her love of art…as
a doll maker, a watercolorist, oil painter, craftsman and model
maker. Gita remarks, “I am following my passion. I use
both sides of my brain”. She spent 12 years in London
and traveled the European countries extensively.
Gita moved to the United States with her husband and two children
in 1991. Relocating to provide better opportunities for their
boys in America, they currently reside in beautiful Saratoga,
California, just 1 hour south of San Francisco.
In the years since formal instruction, Gita has become an accomplished
oil painter. Studying with notable artists in California, she
paints in studio and outdoors---landscapes, figures, still lifes
and portraits. Gita’s works are found in collections in
the United States and abroad.
For three consecutive years, Gita has received an honorable
mention for “Artistic Achievement” from the Los
Gatos Art Association. “The Grand View Invitational Art
Show” honored her with a “1st Place Award”
and an “Honorable Mention” in their Outdoor Painting
category.
Always a master at multitasking, Gita currently paints every
day and runs her own business as a web designer and consultant
at W3-Studio.com. Email Gita at gita@gitahazrati.com
